It\u2019s responsible for maintaining the pedigree registry and defining the breed standards. It is governed by a Board of nine volunteer directors.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3995\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lechevalcanadien.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/logo_scea_clrc.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"70\" height=\"63\" \/>The Canadian Livestock Records Corporations (CLRC) is <u>mandated by the CHBA<\/u><\/strong> to maintain the pedigree registry and uphold the regulations set out in section 9 of the by-laws. The CLRC is a private non-profit organization incorporated under the Animal Pedigree Act (APA). global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Foals born as a result of an artificial insemination (fresh or frozen semen) or an embryo transfer are eligible for registration.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;Determining the registration name&#8221; icon_color=&#8221;#ba1f3a&#8221; open_icon_color=&#8221;#ba1f3a&#8221; admin_label=&#8221;Nom d&#8217;enregistrement&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>A horse\u2019s registration name is made up of the following three items, in this order:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the herd name (also called breeders prefix)<\/li>\n<li>the given name of the sire.<\/li>\n<li>the foal\u2019s given name.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The full name must not exceed 30 characters, including spaces and numbers.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>herd name<\/strong> used as the first part of the horse\u2019s name is that of the mare\u2019s owner (or lessor) at the time the breeding took place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The horse\u2019s given name must start with the letter assigned to its birth year.<\/strong> For example, the letter F for 2018, the letter G for 2019, the letter H for 2020, etc.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;Registration process&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Owners of a mare who has given birth to a foal must, within ninety (90) days following the birth, fill out and submit a birth declaration to the CLRC.<\/li>\n<li>They will then receive a registration kit including a registration application form, the instructions for the parentage test and a microchip. All foals must be identified with a microchip implant before weaning. The chip is injected subcutaneously on the side of the neck, halfway between the poll and withers, approximately 2 inches below the base of the mane.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;Registration certificate&#8221; icon_color=&#8221;#ba1f3a&#8221; open_icon_color=&#8221;#ba1f3a&#8221; admin_label=&#8221;Certificat d&#8217;enregistrement&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Once it has received the registration application and the proof of parentage, the CLRC will issue a registration certificate. <u>Once a registration certificate has been issued, it cannot be cancelled<\/u> (except under special circumstances).<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;Transfer of ownership&#8221; icon_color=&#8221;#ba1f3a&#8221; open_icon_color=&#8221;#ba1f3a&#8221; admin_label=&#8221;Transfert de propri\u00e9t\u00e9&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The transfer of ownership request must be filled out in the appropriate section on the back of the original registration certificate and, to be valid, it must be signed by the last registered owner.<\/p>\n<p>If the registration certificate is transferred to a buyer without the signature of the previous registered owner, due to that person being deceased, to them losing their privileges, to an order stemming from a legal decree, or to any other legal action, the Registration Supervising Committee may be appealed to in writing to recommend that the Board approve the transfer of ownership of the horse to the new owner, if the latter is able to provide the following supporting evidence, depending on the case:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proof of purchase and payment in full for the horse (receipt indicating the price with a proof of full payment) OR a copy of a court document providing satisfactory evidence of transfer of ownership (divorce document, proof of gift or legal seizure, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Formal proof of the identity of the horse in question (chip reading by an authorized representative or DNA parentage test).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;Stallion inspection for studs&#8221; icon_color=&#8221;#ba1f3a&#8221; open_icon_color=&#8221;#ba1f3a&#8221; admin_label=&#8221;Inspection v\u00e9t\u00e9rinaire des \u00e9talons reproducteurs&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.7&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>All stallions destined for breeding and born in or after 2015 must get examined by a vet.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lechevalcanadien.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/FORM_008_Inspection-etalon_print.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">See the inspection form<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Stallions must be at least two years old at the time of the inspection. Only those who have been approved can produce foals eligible for registration. Stallions born before 2015 are not subjected to this process.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;Stallion report&#8221; icon_color=&#8221;#ba1f3a&#8221; open_icon_color=&#8221;#ba1f3a&#8221; admin_label=&#8221;Rapport d&#8217;\u00e9talon&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Owners of a stallion destined for breeding must fill out a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lechevalcanadien.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/FORM_007_rapport_etalon_stallion_report_print.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"attachment noopener wp-att-1344\">stallion report<\/a> every year, by December 31 at the latest.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;Semen freezing and selling frozen semen&#8221; icon_color=&#8221;#ba1f3a&#8221; open_icon_color=&#8221;#ba1f3a&#8221; admin_label=&#8221;Cong\u00e9lation de semence et vente de semence congel\u00e9e&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Owners of a registered Canadian stallion who have frozen or authorized a third party to freeze the semen of their horse must send a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lechevalcanadien.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/FORM_010_Semence-congelee_frozen-semen_print.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"attachment noopener wp-att-1346\">semen freezing report<\/a> to the CLRC within one month of the freezing. The report indicates the number of frozen doses as well as the owner of said doses.<\/p>\n<p>The same form must be filled out to report the sale of frozen semen doses. breed registry;<\/li>\r\n<li>have a DNA proof of parentage.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>Males specifically must:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>be at least 96.75% (31\/32) purebred,<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>or<\/strong> have a proof of castration for any males less than 96.875% (31\/32) purebred.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=\"Ins\u00e9mination artificielle et transferts born as a result of an artificial insemination (fresh or frozen semen) or an embryo transfer are eligible for registration.<\/p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=\"D\u00e9termination du nom made up of the following three items, in this order:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>the herd name (also called breeders prefix)<\/li>\r\n<li>the given name of the sire.<\/li>\r\n<li>the foal\u2019s given name.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>The full name must not exceed 30 characters, including spaces and numbers.<\/p>\r\n<p>The <strong>herd name<\/strong> used as the first part of the horse\u2019s name is that of the mare\u2019s owner (or lessor) at the time the breeding took place.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>The horse\u2019s given name must start with the letter assigned to its birth year.<\/strong> For example, the letter F for 2018, the letter G for 2019, the letter H for 2020, etc.<\/p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=\"Proc\u00e9dure d'enregistrement\" admin_label=\"Proc\u00e9dure d'enregistrement\" _builder_version=\"4.11.0\" _module_preset=\"default\" hover_enabled=\"0\" global_colors_info=\"{}\" icon_color=\"#ba1f3a\" sticky_enabled=\"0\"]<ol>\r\n<li>Owners of a mare who has given birth to a foal must, within ninety (90) days following the birth, fill out and submit a birth declaration to the CLRC.<\/li>\r\n<li>They will then receive a registration kit including a registration application form, the instructions for the parentage test and a microchip. All foals must be identified with a microchip implant before weaning. The chip is injected on the side of the neck, halfway between the poll and withers, approximately 5\u00a0cm below the base of the mane.<\/p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=\"Certificat d'enregistrement\" admin_label=\"Certificat d'enregistrement\" _builder_version=\"4.11.0\" _module_preset=\"default\" hover_enabled=\"0\" global_colors_info=\"{}\" icon_color=\"#ba1f3a\" sticky_enabled=\"0\"]<p>Once it has received the registration application and the proof of parentage, the CLRC will issue a registration certificate. <u>Once a registration certificate has been issued, it cannot be cancelled<\/u> (except under special circumstances).<\/p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=\"Transfert de propri\u00e9t\u00e9\" admin_label=\"Transfert de propri\u00e9t\u00e9\" _builder_version=\"4.11.0\" _module_preset=\"default\" hover_enabled=\"0\" global_colors_info=\"{}\" icon_color=\"#ba1f3a\" sticky_enabled=\"0\"]<p>The transfer of ownership request must be filled out in the appropriate section on the back of the original registration certificate and, to be valid, it must be signed by the last registered owner.<\/p>\r\n<p>If the registration certificate is transferred to a buyer without the signature of the previous registered owner, due to that person being deceased, to them losing their privileges, to an order stemming from a legal decree, or to any other legal action, the Registration Supervising Committee may be appealed to in writing to recommend that the Board approve the transfer of ownership of the horse to the new owner, if the latter is able to provide the following supporting evidence, depending on the case:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Proof of purchase and payment in full for the horse (receipt indicating the price with a proof of full payment) OR a copy of a court document providing satisfactory evidence of transfer of ownership (divorce document, proof of gift or legal seizure, etc.).<\/li>\r\n<li>Formal proof of the identity of the horse in question (chip reading by an authorized representative or DNA parentage test).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=\"Inspection v\u00e9t\u00e9rinaire des \u00e9talons reproducteurs\" admin_label=\"Inspection v\u00e9t\u00e9rinaire des \u00e9talons reproducteurs\" _builder_version=\"4.11.0\" _module_preset=\"default\" hover_enabled=\"0\" global_colors_info=\"{}\" icon_color=\"#ba1f3a\" sticky_enabled=\"0\"]<p>All stallions destined for breeding and born in or after 2015 must get examined by a vet.<\/p>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lechevalcanadien.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/FORM_008_Inspection-etalon_print.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">See the inspection form<\/a><\/p>\r\n<p>Stallions must be at least two years old at the time of the inspection. Only those who have been approved can produce foals eligible for registration. The report indicates the number of frozen doses as well as the owner of said doses.<\/p>\r\n<p>The same form must be filled out to report the sale of frozen semen doses.
