Interactive map of “active” breeders
To be considered “active,” breeders must meet the following criteria:
- Be a member in good standing of the Canadian Horse Breeders Association;
- Be up to date with foal registrations (no Z number for more than 2 years);
- Have registered at least two foals in the last three years.
Breeders who sell purebred Canadian horses or foals must register them first. They must also make sure to transfer the ownership to the buyer’s name and pay the fees, unless otherwise specified in the agreement.
If you witness one of the listed breeders committing acts of negligence or cruelty, or if you are having issues obtaining registration papers, please fill out a complaint form.
