Since January 1, 2024, fees for the following services has been increased from $30 to $35:
- Leasing certificates (stallion or mare)
- Herd name registration
- Re-issuing of duplicate Registration Certificates.
Furthermore, in order to encourage early registrations, two major changes now apply:
- The free transfer fee will continue to apply to any breeder who completes the foal’s registration at the time of sale, but only within the foal’s first year of life. If the foal is sold after reaching the age of one, the breeder will have to pay the transfer fee at the time of sale, as would any other seller.
- The actual registration fee will be applied to any foal not registered within its first year of life ($170 for foals between 1 and 3 years of age, and $300 for 3 years and older). The $100 deposit fee at the time of registration will be increased with additional charges if registration is not completed within one year
